Dr. Melissa Murphy is a fellowship-trained, doubleboard-certified interventional spine and pain physician. Practicing at North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center in Grapevine, TX, Dr. Murphy is dedicated to working with each patient individually to develop a personalized treatment plan to improve function and quality of life.

She earned her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Texas Tech University Paul L. Foster School of Medicine and Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree from The University of Texas School of Public Health. She completed an anesthesiology internship and residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville,
Tennessee, before undergoing additional fellowship training in pain medicine at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, Illinois.

Objectives:
1. Review the common profile of patients experiencing painful DPN.
2. Identify appropriate candidates for spinal cord stimulation to treat DPN.
3. Understand multiple benefits of spinal cord stimulation in achieving desirable patient outcomes such as decreased pain and reliance on medications.
