ASPMN Statement Regarding the Use of Opioids for Chronic Pain While Preventing Abuse and Diversion

The attached statement is from ASPMN in regards to the proposed changes from Physicians for Responisble Opioid Prescribing (PROP) and their requests to the FDA. The second file is the FDA response to the PROP requests.

The ASPMN website, http://www.aspmn.org/Pages/federalregulations.aspx clearly describes the differences between what PROP was requesting and what the FDA allowed or denied. I encourage all members to send their congressmen a copy of our position statement on this topic. Too many people who do not know the truth about chronic pain and our patient lives are trying to impact them, and unknowingly doing so, negatively.
